From Page One
I’m Amanda Ascencio, founder and developmental editor at From Page One.
I started this company to support new voices in storytelling and demystify the knowledge I gained over the course of a decade in Hollywood. I was a passionate bookworm in childhood, then a student of story structure since adolescence, then an entertainment industry professional after graduating from Rutgers University. Now, I leverage my experience and training into support for independently published authors.
I love to edit genre-blended works and manuscripts that don’t like to be neatly labeled. Umbrella genres include: fantasy, science fiction, romance, and horror. All subgenres are welcome.

Featuring guests from all over the writing industry who share their own challenges and insights into what it means to be a writer in modern times. Season 2 Episode 10 features me as I talk about the role of developmental editing and why it’s important for indie and self-publishing authors.
